PAULIG MUKI

is a coffee cup with an e-paper display that's powered by nothing more than hot coffee. You can download your own pics on the screen, but the real fun starts when you fill your first cup in the morning and your friends' messages arrive. It could be a sweet message from the love of your life or an embarrassing pic from your jackass buddy.

The screen is connected via Bluetooth to an accompanying mobile application. The user can use the app to control the screen content, and to send pictures to their friends Mukis. The content is updated on the screen each time hot coffee is pored into the cup. The thermal energy from one Muki is enough to update the content five to ten times. What's fun about the E-ink display is that the last picture will stay on it even if you run out of energy.
